The Ruwais plant has a design capacity of 23,800 Nm3/h of pressurized gaseous nitrogen (GAN) at 8.5 bar(g) and also produces a maximum 4,850 Nm3/h of liquefied nitrogen (LIN) and 1,670 Nm3/h liquefied oxygen (LOX). The liquefied products are exported from the plant via road tanker by Linde Gas Middle East who transport the LIN & LOX to end user customers in the UAE and beyond.

The purities achieved are at less than 1ppm oxygen content in nitrogen and a purity of 99.5% for oxygen. The plant commenced commercial operation in January 2010.

The Ruwais air separation plant is specifically designed to supply gaseous nitrogen to Borouge via pipeline and liquefied nitrogen & oxygen via road tanker.
